BTEC Creative Media Production

Creative media is a rapidly expanding industry. You will get to work with some of the most exciting technologies available and have some great fun while doing so. We have really good links with some of the biggest players in the industry and have excellent connections with Tees Valley’s very own Digital City, so you will be in the best place to find the right skills in one of the most fast-paced and innovative industries in the world.

You’ll develop a thorough understanding of creative media techniques that will help you develop the necessary skills employers are looking for. With a focus on work this practical course will see you creating your own projects and assignments in our design studios. Working to briefs based on the real world you’ll get to see what life is really like in this vibrant industry.

As you would expect, lessons in creative media are active and require you think out of the box and use your intuition to participate and put forward your ideas.

You will apply your learning through practical assessments in the form of internally assessed assignments and externally assessed tasks and on-screen exams.

To have achieved A*/9-C/4 grades in at least five GCSE programmes, including either GCSE English or GCSE Maths.

You may not know this, but you already are exposed to creative media techniques, so this course will not only help you to recognise these but it will also enable you to gain an invaluable insight into the creative media sector.

Moving on to university you can further develop your technical skills and knowledge or specialise in a preferred field. Future careers could include web authoring, digital communication, media design and digital communication, or you could go on to launch your own creative media business.
