Meet the team

Bailie Stephenson

Bailie has worked at Redcar and Cleveland College for over 5 years.

During that time, she has made a fantastic contribution to supporting current and potential students when deciding their next steps into further education.

Bailie has a very diverse understanding of the college offer and has a passion for ensuring students enrol onto the right course for them.

She said: “There is nothing more rewarding than helping the younger generation and ensuring that they are making the best choices for their education. I particularly enjoy meeting students and their parents at our open events”.

Jessica Howard

Jess joined the team in 2022 and is based at our Stockton Riverside Campus.

When asked about her role she said: ‘I enjoy giving advice and guidance to students about courses that they are interested in, it is rewarding knowing I have helped a student towards achieving their goals. I can give advice from my own personal experiences of attending college and university.’

Emma Thornton

Emma has worked in the Beauty industry for 10 years after studying Level 2 Beauty Therapy at Stockton Riverside College and since then has ran her own successful beauty business alongside her role in the Student Recruitment team. This has given her the knowledge and skills to be able to give students the best start when considering their future career.

Emma says “It’s really rewarding knowing that my advice to students is going to help them in their future endeavors. I had an advisor help me make the right choice for me and I know how much it’s helped me be where I am today, so I know what a big impact it can have on other students”.

Allie Kirkbright

Allie has worked for the college for 4 years.

She also studied a Level 3 Business course at the college from leaving school, going onto university at Northumbria. Allie has also completed a Customer Service apprenticeship at Redcar and Cleveland College.

Being a part of the student recruitment team, Allie is keen to pass on her knowledge to students about what we offer and the different courses suitable for the student’s career goals.

Allie says “I enjoy going to events and speaking to students to support them in the different options available to them. I can discuss my experiences and give information on my experience with studying a full-time course and an apprenticeship at the college. It’s rewarding seeing a student excel in the course they are really passionate about”

James Gray

James has worked within Student Recruitment for the past 3 years, both in Higher Education and Further Education environments.

He is alumni of Bede Sixth Form College, studying A-Levels in Sport, History and Psychology which allowed him to go on and achieve undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at university.

James said ‘Attending one of the colleges we represent has allowed me to have a first-hand experience of what the Education Training Collective has to offer. Being able to promote this to prospective students feels like I’m giving back to the institution that supported me development into the professional, and person, I am today’.

Connor Pearson

Connor has worked at the ETC since 2022, beginning his career as a Learning Support Assistant before transitioning into the Schools Team. As an ex Redcar and Cleveland Student, he has a unique perspective and experience which he is able to bring to the role when engaging with prospective students.

“Seeing how much the college has developed since my time here as a student and how the equipment and resources available to potential students has grown, it makes me proud to be able to represent the college and give back to the College that helped me in my time here as a student. Making sure that current students and potential students get the correct information and know what support is there for them throughout the college is key”.
