GCSE (or standard equivalent) in English and maths grade 4 (C) or above. For trainees that are training to teach vocational subjects: A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in the subject that they are going to teach, plus significant experience of working in their sector. For trainees that are training to teach academic subjects: First degree from a United Kingdom higher education institution or equivalent qualification (comprising at least 300 HE credit points of which 60 must be at level 6 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF)).
