Introduction

Aviation and Tourism are fast moving, dynamic and forward-thinking industries.......and so are we. Our philosophy: The philosophy of the course is to produce graduates who have developed a globally comprehensive knowledge of the Aviation and Tourism sectors with a robust interpretation of the concepts surrounding business resilience and sustainability. Developing underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills for success/ enhancement in employment, future study or career flexibility and advancement are also features of the course. Students have the opportunity to develop academic skills as well as industry skills that are reflective of current best practice with industry engagement opportunities being as diverse as the students who enrol on the course.

  • Exploring Health, Safety and Security in Aviation

Level 5 modules:

  • Performance Management and Leadership in Aviation and Tourism
  • Exploring Tourism Destination Development
  • Business Economics and Financial Insight
  • Professional Development and Employability Planning
  • Understanding Research in Aviation or Tourism
  • Contemporary Issues in Aviation

How will I learn

We use fieldwork to study real world factors, global issues and emerging trends within each sector. Our current industry links provide interesting educational and cultural visits combined with guest lecture insights. The programme enables the acquisition of appropriate experience and development of broader academic skills to enter the aviation or tourism industry at a professional level.

What's next

Most recently graduates have secured employment both locally and nationally with leading sector organisations. Roles in aviation and tourism range from airport marketing, aviation security, air crew, executive travel and aviation training management. You may also wish to further your studies and progress onto a Top-Up award or other appropriate Top-Up programmes with a further year of study.
