Introduction

The BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care will provide you with the unique opportunity to engage with and learn about the wider concepts and developments within the health and social care sector in light of recent legislative and social policy developments. This is aimed at improving the existing provision, outcomes for service users and ultimately development of the health and social care workforce to the highest possible standards, including maximising personalisation and key quality care concepts.

What will I learn

The degree is made up of 5 modules: • Research in Health and Social Care • Policy and Practice in Health and Social Care • Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care • Improving Health and Wellbeing in Communities • Individual Practice Project Candidates are expected to be working with clients or experience of working within a professional framework in order to apply their learning on this course.

How will I learn

Learning will be classroom based with a variety of lectures, electronic resources, group work, presentations and a small-scale independent research study.

What's next

You can progress into employment within the health and social care sector. Roles include Health Service Manager, Health Practitioner and Social Care Manager. Alternatively if you would like to go into teaching you can study the PGCE Teaching in Education and Training. You could also go on to the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme.

Additional Information

You will be assessed using a variety of methods including academic and reflective essays, presentations and the production of a dissertation.
