Stockton Riverside College is putting the spotlight on apprenticeships at its open event with live vacancies on the night.

The event on Tuesday (Feb 8, 2022) will include the chance to chat to employers and discover the latest apprenticeship opportunities in the likes of business admin, paralegal, logistics and IT.

Part of the college’s National Apprenticeship Week activities, group business development manager, Tamsin Edwards, said: “It is fantastic to be able to share some of the amazing apprenticeship positions available on our doorstep.”

Employers represented at the event will include South Tees NHS Foundation Trust, Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors, LV Shipping, PD Ports, Nifco, Tindles Chartered Accountants, Doornbos Equipment, CPD Bodies and SK Foods.

It’s not just the youngsters who are invited to take a look, as more and more adults are choosing the apprenticeship route.

Tamsin said: “Apprenticeships can be a great stepping stone for those looking to retrain or upskill in their existing career.”  At the college group they are working with apprentices aged from 16 to 60 plus.

The same as any vacancy, she said: “It just depends on what the employer is looking for and at the end of the day it’s all about finding the right person for the job.”

Practising what they preach at Stockton Riverside College, Charlotte is a business administration apprentice working in the college’s business development team.

The 20-year-old from Stokesley said: “I chose an apprenticeship to get a qualification while still earning a wage.  It was the role that stood out to me, I’m really enjoying it.”

Louise, 24, of Norton, is training in her business administration apprenticeship with the construction, professional and service industries department at the college.

She said: “I was unemployed so this was a chance to gain experience in an office environment.  It sounds a bit cheesy to say but I really do love it.”

Stockton Riverside College’s apprenticeship event will take place on Tuesday February 8, from 5.30-7.30pm. Book your place today.
