Another generous donation of 7500 bricks arrived at Stockton Riverside College this morning, all delivered free of charge to help our brickwork students gain the skills that will make them employable on completion of their course.

The college’s Programme Area Lead for Construction, Alex Thompson said: “These bricks will be used for exams walls and preparation for upcoming regional competitions, which we’re really excited about.” Alex proudly shared how his students would be taking part in the upcoming World Skills, Skill Build, and the Guild of Bricklayers competitions.

The bricklaying department is incredible at reusing its resources and always ensures they get the maximum use out of all materials provided to them. In the past, they have often worked with older bricks, that have been cleaned, time and time again, so this donation makes a huge difference to the continued learning and skillset of our students. Alex added, “It’s always incredible for the students to have that number of brand-new bricks to work with.”

Alex and the entire Bricklaying department, including its students, would like to say a massive thank you to Michelmersh for their continued support. These bricks will massively help our students to continue to make strides in their learning.
