Apprenticeships are the perfect next step for those who are looking to work, get paid and learn at the same time, which is exactly why Aaliyah chose a Bricklaying Apprenticeship at Stockton Riverside College (SRC).

Close to home and easy for her to get to, her 4-day working week was the ideal balance, and Aaliyah hopes to have her own business one day, inspiring future generations of females into the construction industry.

‘I love what I do – you learn new things every day and have a laugh with the people you work with on site. Working on projects like building houses is really rewarding as you see the outcome at the end and can be proud of how you contributed to it.’
