Course overview
If you love making people feel good about themselves and enjoy interacting with the public, then studying beauty therapy in college may be an excellent option for you.
This profession is all about enhancing people’s natural beauty and helping them feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. On our level 1 diploma, you will begin to develop the social and technical skills required to deliver a range of treatments.
Whether you are passionate about the beauty industry or simply looking for a rewarding and fulfilling career, our level 1 course is a great place to start.
Through training in our on-site salon, you will learn beginner treatments including basic manicure, basic pedicure, head massage, skincare, and make-up application. You will also learn about health and safety, presenting a professional image and how the body works.
Course information
You will be assessed through practical assessments and observations, oral questioning, and a theory/multiple choice test. You will carry out an online exam and build a portfolio of evidence.
After successfully completing this course and obtaining a grade 4 or above in English, you could progress onto a second year of study in Level 2 Beauty Therapy.
English and maths GCSEs at grade 3.
If you do not already have an English and maths GCSEs graded 4-9 you will continue to work towards this as part of your main program of study*. *Unless you are exempt. Please see condition of funding rules.
