Course overview
This course will provide learners with the ability to understand the causes of diabetes, how to take simple lifestyle measures in order to prevent the development of the disease, and how to care for people with diabetes.
This qualification covers:
Understanding Diabetes.
Prevention and Early Intervention of Type 2 Diabetes.
Understanding the Initial Care of Diabetes.
Understanding the Treatment and Management of Diabetes.
Course information
Assessment involves completion of relevant work booklets or online assessments which are completed as distance learning and submitted to the college.
Upon completion of the course, students can apply for other distance learning programmes or where appropriate use their newly acquired knowledge in practice.
- You must be at least 19 years old.
- You must have lived within England for a minimum of three years and/or have residency status.
- The course is free, but a £120 withdrawal or non-completion fee applies if you do not complete your course.
