Introduction

On the FdA Acting, students will develop techniques in physical theatre, singing, acting techniques, voice (radio), acting for camera, contextual studies and devising as well as being part of the SRCActingRep, a unique collaboration across the programme where you will perform in a One Act play festival and a full length production at the end of the year as part of the HEFest. You will learn to develop performance skills alongside growing your creative practice and taking on a production role within the SRCActingRep. This programme has a 80/20 Practical/Academic ratio. This course, developed in partnership with Teesside University, will utilise local theatres including the Arc in Stockton, the Forum in Billingham and the newly renovated Town Hall in Middlesbrough.

How will I learn

You will study the arts in a range of ways including practical workshops, lectures, seminars and tutorials. Tutorials help you to discover and develop your personal aptitude for your chosen career path.

What's next

You can progress onto our BA (Hons) Performing Arts (Top-Up) or apply for a programme at another university, drama school or conservatoire.

Additional Information

On this course, you will be assessed in a variety of ways, including essays, reports, presentations and performance observations. Each assessment is carefully designed to give you the necessary tools to succeed.
