• Students must have good literacy, communication and numeracy skills • Students do not need to be in employment but must attend all workshops over the 8-week period Funding available for learners with universal credit. Full-cost = £395

Introduction

This course is an ideal starting point for anybody aged 19 or above who is looking to explore a career within adult social care. The course would also be suitable for those who are new to employment within the sector.

What will I learn

Students must complete 5 Mandatory units to complete the award covering: • Introduction to the adult social care sector • Introduction to the values and principles of adult social care • Awareness of the skills and attitudes needed to work in adult social care • Awareness of communication in adult social care • Awareness of the role and responsibilities of the adult social care worker

How will I learn

Students will attend the college for one full day per week. Students will learn through a variety of classroom-based activities, professional discussions and group work.
