• Candidates must be qualified to an advanced level or have extensive experience in the area which they are assessing.
They must either be a member of an existing accredited assessment team or able to join such a team and be mentored by a qualified IQA.
This qualification is designed for those who are currently involved in Internal Quality Assurance Processes. The purpose of this qualification is to confirm competence in an occupational role to the standards required. It is intended for those who maintain and improve the quality of assessment from within an organisation or assessment centre.

To achieve this qualification, candidates must achieve both units.
How will I learn
The qualification will be delivered initially in a series of workshops to cover the requirements of the written unit and following these tutorial sessions will be used. The tutorial sessions will be used to assess the learner’s competence as an IQA in their workplace and will involve direct observation by the assessor. Candidates will be required to demonstrate knowledge and competence of planning and conducting IQA making decisions using a variety of quality and performance measures.
Introductory sessions will explore the role and responsibility of the IQA and will be supported by tutorial sessions to help action plan evidence to be gathered.
Candidates successfully completing the qualification can – if professional circumstances permit - progress to achieve the following Quality Assurance qualifications:
• Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.
