Preparing to work in Adult Social Care Level 1

Course overview

This course is an ideal starting point for anybody aged 19 or above who is looking to explore a career within adult social care. The course would also be suitable for those who are new to employment within the sector.

Students must complete 5 Mandatory units to complete the award covering:

  • Introduction to the adult social care sector
  • Introduction to the values and principles of adult social care
  • Awareness of the skills and attitudes needed to work in adult social care
  • Awareness of communication in adult social care
  • Awareness of the role and responsibilities of the adult social care worker
