Course overview
The Level 2 Certificate is a natural progression from the completion of the Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care.
Students must complete 9 mandatory units to complete the certificate. These are:
- Principles of communication in adult social care settings
- Principles of personal development in adult social care settings
- Principles of diversity, equality and inclusion in adult social care settings
- Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care
- Introduction to duty of care in health, social care or children’s and young people’s setting
- Understand the role of the social care working
- Understand the person-centred approaches in adult social care setting
- Understand health and safety in social care settings
- Understand how to handle information in social setting

Course information
Students will put together a portfolio of evidence to show their understanding of the role of an adult social care worker.
Level 3 Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care
- Students must have completed the Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care
- Students must have good literacy, communication and numeracy skills
- Students do not need to be in employment but must attend all workshops over the 12-week period
Funded for learners on universal credit. Full Cost = £811
Students will attend the college for one full day per week. Students will learn through a variety of classroom-based activities, professional discussions and group work.
