Course overview

Our Level 2 Health and Social Care course provides an excellent foundation of skills for those looking to pursue a career in healthcare. This course not only teaches you the essential knowledge required to provide care and support to individuals, but also develops your employability skills, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

You will develop a foundation of skills and knowledge in the health and social care sector. You will study several topics including communication, human growth and development, safeguarding, person centred care, equality and diversity and science.

You will also spend some time in our Preparation for Employment lessons, developing your skills for the workplace.

You will attend a relevant work placement within health and social care to develop your skills in a practical setting.

<p>A minimum of four GCSEs at grade 3 or above (or equivalent), including maths and/or English* plus a satisfactory DBS and a positive attitude to learning.</p><p>*If you do not already have an English or maths GCSE at minimum grade 4, you will continue to work towards this as part of your main program of study.</p>

Course information

All units will be internally assessed through a portfolio of evidence made up of written assignments, exams, posters, presentations, practical activities, and professional discussion.

The course is graded A* – D.

Placement top is required with a cost of £15.
