Course overview

This course will provide learners with the strategies that can be used to care for and protect children, correct procedures to follow when caring for children and young people and why it is essential to have an understanding of how to care for children properly. This qualification will give learners a basic understanding of childcare and education, parenting and babysitting. It will also help them to make an informed choice about working with children and young people.

Entry requirements
<p>You must be at least 19 years old.</p><p>You must have lived within England for a minimum of three years and/or have residency status.</p><p>The course is free, but there is a charge of £120 if you do not complete your work on time or if you withdraw.</p>

Assessment involves completion of relevant work booklets or online units which are completed as distance learning and submitted to the college.
