Course overview
This qualification aims to raise awareness of mental health and a range of mental health problems. The objective of this qualification is to develop the learner’s understanding of a range of mental health problems, which could be used to support their role in the workplace and their interactions with individuals with mental health problems.
This qualification covers:
Understanding Mental Health.
Understanding Stress.
Understanding Anxiety.
Understanding Phobias.
Understanding Depression.
Understanding Post-Natal Depression.
Understanding Bipolar Disorder.
Understanding Schizophrenia.
Understanding Dementia.
Understanding Eating Disorders.
Understanding Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Understanding Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
Understanding Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Course information
Assessment involves completion of relevant work booklets or online units which are completed as distance learning and submitted to the college.
Upon completion of the course, students can apply for other distance learning programmes, or where appropriate use their newly acquired knowledge in practice.
You can also apply for a Level 3 distance learning course in mental health.
- You must be at least 19 years old.
- You must have lived within England for a minimum of three years and/or have residency status.
- The course is free, but there is a charge of £120 if you do not complete your work on time or if you withdraw.
