Introduction

Are you passionate about the world of theatre and TV production, but prefer working behind the scenes? Our Level 3 Costume and Production course is the perfect fit for students who dream of designing and creating costumes, props, and sets for film, TV, and theatre performances. Throughout the course, you'll work collaboratively with other departments, gaining a deep understanding of a career backstage in the performing arts industry. Our live assignment briefs offer you the opportunity to put your creativity and problem-solving skills to the test, developing a diverse set of practical skills that will prepare you for a career in this exciting field.

What will I learn

You will research, design, sketch and construct, learning how to use a range of media, materials and techniques to create amazing costumes, sets and props. You will work collaboratively with other areas in our APTA department, including Film and production arts to work on live performances and briefs.

How will I learn

You'll learn through a mix of practical sessions and theory lessons. We also offer educational visits, including trips to London to enhance the classroom learning.

What's next

You could continue your studies on a creative university course such as, costume, set design or model making for Film, TV and Theatre.

Additional Information

Basic art and design equipment will be required. You will be provided with a list at induction. You will be provided with a list at induction that can be purchased from the college. If you do not already have an English and Maths GCSE grade 4-9, you will continue to work towards this as part of your main program of study*. *Unless you are exempt. See condition of funding rules.
