Course overview
Do you dream of a career where you can be creative every single day? Our two-year course allows you to unleash your imagination and bring your ideas to life. Whether you’re interested in fashion, fine art, graphic design, or any other creative field.
This course will allow you to develop your skills in your preferred area of specialism and alongside experienced tutors, you’ll have the opportunity to work on real-life community projects and exhibit your work to the public. We’re also part of the APTA department, and benefit from collaborative projects with other students studying performance and production arts subjects.
By the end of this course, you’ll have a deep understanding of your chosen area of art and design and be ready to take the next step in your creative journey.
You will learn about a wide range of techniques and processes, and develop your skills as you work towards specialising in the area you feel is best for you. We will introduce you to the many possible career paths in the creative industries, from graphic design, concept art, illustration, interior design, photography, fashion, textiles and many more.
Course information
You will establish a portfolio of work across each year of study which in the 1st year is externally set and marked.
There will also be a range of practical tasks, work related projects and externally set employer briefs for all students to actively take part in.
After two years of successful study, you could progress on to university to study one of many creative subjects or move on to a relevant apprenticeship or into employment.
Four GCSEs at grade 9-4, including English and/ or maths or a relevant level 2 qualification.
Basic art and design equipment will be required. You will be provided with a list at induction that can be purchased from the college.
If you do not already have an English and Maths GCSE grade 4-9, you will continue to work towards this as part of your main program of study*.

You’ll learn through a mix of practical sessions and theory lessons.
We also offer educational visits, including trips to London to enhance the classroom learning.
