Introduction

If you prefer to behind the camera instead of in front of it, a career in the film industry could be ideal for you. Whether you’re interested in short films, documentaries, music videos or full length features, our film production course will give you the skills you need to bring your ideas to life. We have excellent links with industry, local businesses and you’ll work within out student production company, UFilms.

What will I learn

You will gain a range of on-set experience including directing, camera techniques, film and video editing, screenwriting for film & television and production management. The course can lead to a range of careers including cinematography, directing, producing, screen writing, editing and many more on set roles. You will earn using industry standard cameras, sound equipment and post production software while carrying out a rage of production and assignment which are planned to be based on realistic workplace demands.

How will I learn

You will learn using industry standard equipment, cameras, lighting and editing software while carrying out a range of practical assessments in a range of Film and Television genres including, short film, period dramas, documentary and magazine shows among many others all of which are designed in line with current industry standards.

What's next

On completion of this course you could go on to university to study degrees in areas such as film & television production, broadcast or multimedia journalism & film or media studies. Or you could progress to a production role within the industry. And for those who want to make the move to in front of the camera we have our new FDA in Acting programme at Stockton Riverside College!
