Introduction

A course for those who want to develop their reading, writing and speaking and listening skills to achieve a GCSE qualification or for those who require a Grade 4 or above in GCSE English to progress to further courses in further education or higher education or for employment purposes. You may also be interested in this course if you have achieved a Grade D/Grade 3 or below and wish to improve your grade. The course is taught online through very detailed, clear, well-organised materials which enable you to study each week at times of your choosing.

What will I learn

Unit 1 - Explorations in creative Reading and Writing Unit 2 - Writers viewpoints and perspectives Unit 3 - Non-exam Assessment: Spoken Language During the course, you will examine fiction and non-fiction texts, spoken language, you will also consider how you approach writing and, of course, there will be an element of spelling, punctuation and grammar to cover. By analysing and comparing texts, you will be able to improve on your ability to interpret the author’s messages and in turn improve your own communication skills.

The focus of the course is firmly on independent study using Microsoft Teams. A variety of resources will be available to cover all the topics required. What's next
