Introduction

This course will provide learners with the ability to understand the causes of Diabetes, how to take simple lifestyle measures in order to prevent the development of the disease, and how to care for people with Diabetes.

What will I learn

This qualification covers: Understand Diabetes. Prevention and Early Intervention of Type 2 Diabetes. Understand the Initial Care of Diabetes. Understand the Treatment and Management of Diabetes.

Module text books are provided with all learning materials included for your directed study.

What's next

Upon completion of the course, students can apply for other distance learning programmes, use as APL for QCF qualifications where appropriate and use their newly acquired knowledge in practice.

You will need to be interested in working, or be intending to work, in healthcare and social care. The course will provide the knowledge and understanding of diabetes to support learners’ role in the workplace.
