Introduction

The purpose of this qualification is to allow learners to demonstrate an understanding of data protection and data security. Students will gain an understanding of current data legislation, steps organisations might take to help protect data, how to protect their own data, how to protect ICT systems from common threats and will gain an understanding of the consequences of not protecting data and systems.

What's next

Upon completion of the course, students can apply for other distance learning programmes, use as APL for QCF qualifications where appropriate and use their newly acquired knowledge in practice.
