Introduction

This qualification with help to develop learners’ understanding of Autism and the principles of supporting individuals with Autism. It covers the person-centred approach and influence of positive communication methods, how to support positive behaviour and how individuals with Autism can be supported to live healthy and fulfilled lives.

What will I learn

This qualification covers: Introduction to Autism. Using a Person-Centred Approach to Support Individuals with Autism. Communication and Social Interaction in Individuals with Autism. Sensory Processing, Perception and Cognition in Individuals with Autism. Supporting Positive Behaviour in Individuals with Autism. Supporting Individuals with Autism to Live Healthy and Fulfilled Lives.

How will I learn

Module text books are provided with all learning materials included for your directed study.

What's next

Upon completion of the course, students can apply for other distance learning programmes, use as APL for QCF qualifications where appropriate and use their newly acquired knowledge in practice. You can also apply for a Level 3 distance learning course in Understanding Autism.
