Introduction

This qualification will provide learners with additional knowledge when working within the health and social care sectors. Learners will gain specialist information regarding supporting individuals with personal care needs. Learners will study information related to personal hygiene, but also the consequences of poor personal care including risks to pressurised skin areas and sepsis.

This qualification covers: Understand Person-Centred Care Understand how to Support Personal Hygiene Understand Pressure Area Care Understand Foot Care for Individuals Understand how to Support Individuals to Maintain Oral Health Understand Sepsis

What's next

Upon completion of the course, students can apply for other distance learning programmes, use as APL for QCF qualifications where appropriate and use their newly acquired knowledge in practice.
