T Level Management and Administration Route – Business Support

These two-year courses, recently introduced by the government, offer a unique combination of classroom-based learning and on-the-job training through a 45-day industry placement. Equivalent to three A levels, this level 3 technical option has been designed in partnership with businesses and employers to give you the knowledge and skills you need to succeed in the fast-paced world of business.

During the theory and knowledge element of your course, you will gain an understanding of all aspects of concepts, management theories and models, and principles relevant to Management and Administration. You will gain an overview of organisational cultures and values, different types of internal and external stakeholders, different forms of governance and the impact of organisations on society and the environment.

The specialism for this route will include you developing the knowledge, understanding and skills within a Business Support role. This is designed to provide an opportunity for you to develop your skills of supporting different business functions through a range of techniques, models and theories including the use of business tools, problem solving and project management.

Attending an industry placement is an essential component of a T Level course, this provides you with priceless industry experience that sets you apart from students who choose a purely academic path. Gaining experience in a workplace setting for at least 45 days will help you:

• Understand the world of work and begin networking with potential future employers;
• Put your studies into perspective and practise developing skills in a genuine work environment;
• Verify that this is the profession you wish to pursue
• Obtain practical experience that you may mention in an interview and on your resume.
• Attend your industry placement as a day release student, a block release student, or a combination of the two. Additionally, it could be divided between up to two employers.
