Course overview
This extensive course specialises in both live and screen acting, and offers exciting, challenging, professional and ‘hands-on’ training to prepare you for a career in theatre, film, and TV acting or related professions. Learning in our theatre and dance studio, as well as on location, you’ll gain awareness of technical/production skills, directing, teaching/facilitation and freelance employment, to make you shine in this competitive industry. This course can be worth the equivalent of 3 A* at A level.
Over the course of two years, you’ll study 12 specialist units – equivalent to 3 A-Levels.
You’ll perform in full-scale theatre productions, variety shows, showcases, pantomimes, theatre tours, short films, music videos, and audio projects, in a range of locations and venues, in industry relevant ways.
Course information
You will be assessed across the year through your performances, practical work and hands-on projects, supported by research tasks and theory assignments including presentations, essays and actor’s logs.
You could go on to further training at drama school or university, or you could even start working in the industry. Some students progress to related areas of study/work, including directing, technical theatre, events management, teaching or stage management.
Four GCSEs Grade 9-5 including Maths and/or English or a merit in a relevant Level 2 course.
You also need a strong track record in attendance and punctuality.
