Course overview
There are dozens of roles within the catering and hospitality sector so whether you enjoy the heat of the kitchen of the excitement of the restaurant floor, our catering and hospitality courses will give you the skills you need to work in this fast-paced and enjoyable industry. You’ll work in our busy training kitchens and take part in exciting projects like our annual Hell’s Kitchen night, where students cook with chefs from the army.
You will build on the skills you learnt throughout the level 2 course and use more advanced techniques to prepare and cook dishes as well as delivering top quality service at the supervisory level.
Course information
This is continuous throughout the course and the completion of a portfolio of work will be required.
Develop your skills by progressing onto a relevant Level 3 Diploma or you could find employment or an apprenticeship within the industry.
Four GCSEs at grade 4**, Or a relevant level 1 qualification or equivalent.
**If you do not already have an English and maths GCSE grade 4-9, you will continue to work towards this as part of your main programme of study.
Working in a commercial kitchen you’ll need to wear a uniform and safety shoes.
Materials required for this course are:
- Knives
- Uniform
- Black Safety Shoes
You will learn through practical sessions in the Infinity Restaurant and Oasis Bistro, practical demonstrations and theory input.
