Course overview

This knowledge only qualification is designed for learners wishing to develop their understanding of the safe handling of medication. This course will provide them with knowledge which enables them to understand how to store, supply, and dispose of medications safely. They will also learn about correct and efficient record-keeping processes which will enable them to keep service users safe.

Understanding Medication and Prescriptions.

Supply, Storage and Disposal of Medication.

Understand the Requirements for the Safe Administrations of Medication.

<ul><li>You must be at least 19 years old.</li><li>You must have lived within England for a minimum of three years and/or have residency status.</li><li>The course is free, but a £120 withdrawal or non-completion fee applies if you do not complete your course.</li><li>You need to be working in a health and social care setting.</li></ul>

Assessment involves completion of relevant work booklets or online units which are completed as distance learning and submitted to the college.
