This week some of our Level 3 Business students have been on a sponsored walk to raise money for The JK Club.
They managed to raise £150 by walking from the Millennium Bridge around the river to the Infinity Bridge in Stockton. Hannah Ward, 16, said: “It started raining just as we set off but we still really enjoyed the walk, and it was all for charity.”
The students decided on The JK Club as it is close to one of their hearts. Business student, Connor Sharp, picked the charity as it is ran by his aunty. The 18-year-old said: “The JK Club is ran by my aunty so that’s why we chose this one. It is a youth club for people with special needs so all of the money will go towards room hire and activities for them.”
As part of their coursework, the students have to demonstrate how they can develop teams, so they took this opportunity as a way to raise money for charity as well as helping them with their studies.
