It was all glitz and glam at Stockton Riverside College as students delivered a series of makeovers to raise money for a good cause.
Hairdressing students put their new skills to the test as they offered pin-ups and beauty makeovers to clients with funds going to the Cleveland Alzheimer’s Residential Centre.
“The idea started as a course project,” said hairdressing student Sherrie Appleby. The class had been tasked with helping to promote the services available at the college salon.
Sherrie explained: “We decided to take the project one step further by carrying out six simultaneous makeovers and raising money for charity at the same time.”
Production Arts Makeup for Media, Arts and Performance students offered a helping hand with the makeup. The team also received support from local businesses, Rose Funerals and Sally’s Salon Services.
A fun photo shoot rounded off the day with the clients - made up of family, friends and external clients – getting the chance to capture their new looks on camera.

“It’s been lovely,” said Carmen McKenna, 76, of Middlesbrough who enjoyed a spot of pampering.
Hairdressing student Karen Errington from Middlesbrough added: “It has been fun to do something a bit different. And rewarding to see our clients all done up and to think that we are able to do that.”
