Apprentices affected by the collapse of Carillion are invited to an information and advice session at Stockton Riverside College to help explore their future options.
The event at the college’s Teesdale campus will offer the chance to talk to the construction team and discuss routes open to you with the college’s apprenticeship experts.
Michael Duffey Stockton Riverside College’s head of construction and professional services said: “The collapse of Carillion is a devastating blow to the industry.
“Construction is a close knit community and everyone within it will know someone who has been affected.
“We want to help play our part in helping to soften that blow.”
Employing 46,000 people worldwide, including 20,000 in the UK, and an estimated 1,400 apprentices, Carillion announced it was going into liquidation last week.
Michael said: “It is really important that those young people are supported in meeting their aspirations and career goals and if we can help in any way that is what want to do.
“We are passionate about construction and passionate about supporting young people, enabling them to succeed.”
The information event on Wednesday 24th January will involve an all-day drop-in session from 9am to 7.30pm at the college on Harvard Avenue, Stockton.
