The Health, Care, and Childcare students at Stockton Riverside College celebrated the completion of their extended placements at Teesside University’s Hub.

The awards ceremony was held by Stockton Riverside College to honour all level 2 and 3 full-time students that completed their extended placements in 2019. Students and lecturers celebrated together at the first ever award of its kind.

The award was designed to celebrate student’s achievements, given the hard work, time, and focus that they put into their studies.

300 guests, consisting of parents, students, and placement providers trickled into the room at 6pm, and enjoyed utilising our selfie frames and digging into the buffet we had prepared for them.

Health, Care, Childcare, and Education Awards

The students, dressed up in formal wear, made their way to the stage to collect their awards. They shook hands with the Heads of Department, while our hired photographer snapped photos of them.

One of our students, Navdeep, who studied CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education, gave an exceptional speech on stage that evoked an echo of applause.

She stated that: “For me, the best part about my time at Stockton Riverside College, was the chance to go to placements and experience the real work environment and work alongside professionals. I would highly recommend Stockton Riverside College to family and friends because it allows learners to develop their confidence and learn key life skills.”

Navdeep aims to study a Master’s Degree in Psychology to work as an Educational Psychologist in the near future. She is thrilled to have passed her course with flying colours and thanked the staff at Stockton Riverside College for all of their support throughout her studies.

The Head of Department, Rebecca Wolfe, said: "It was amazing to see so many successful students this evening and to witness the proud look on the faces of the parents as their children headed up onto the stage to receive their certificates and awards."

We wish all of our learners the very best in their next steps!
