Business students have been putting their enterprise skills to the test today, raising money for a good cause.

Cake sale for Cancer ResearchThe learners sold a range of sweet treats to staff and fellow students in an effort to support Cancer Research UK.

Bissmah, Melina and Stephen, who are currently studying Level 3 Business, sold an assortment of delicious homemade cupcakes and mixed sweet bags as well as setting up a GoFundMe page, to top up their final total.

The fundraiser was part of the college's enterprise initiative, a drive to help promote a culture of enterprise among students.

At Stockton Riverside College learners are encouraged to take part in a variety of activities and events to further develop their business, communication and teamwork skills and in doing so boost their future employment chances.

Today's event was the first of a series of fundraisers being organised by the Level 3 Business students.

Next week, Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th December, classmates are holding a Gingerbread and Pot Noodle event from 12noon-1pm, raising funds for the Dogs Trust. Another charity cake and sweet stall will follow on Monday December 18.

Did you miss out on today's event. Don't worry, you can still make a contribution here.
