Choosing to study Beauty Therapy at Stockton Riverside College certainly proved the right move for Izzie Fenny.

Just three years later she is running her own business and enjoying every second.

Picking up her Level 3 in Nail Services this summer, she said: “I always wanted to have my own business.”

Studying beauty not only gave her the technical skills she needed but working in the college salon helped her to develop the confidence and the know-how to work with clients.

“Having real clients come in to the salon prepares you for your first job,” said Izzie, who started her career working in a salon.

Keen to enhance and further develop her skills she chose to continue her studies going on to study nails.

Now running her own business from home, Izzie’s Beauty Room, the future is looking bright for the young entrepreneur.

Sad to be saying farewell to the college, she said: “It feels weird not to be coming back. It feels like I have been here forever, but in a good way.

“I love my tutor to pieces and I have really enjoyed my time here. There was never a day that I didn’t want to be here.”
