Introduction

Designed for those with special educational needs (SEN), our Foundation Skills courses are here to help you achieve your individual goals. Working in small groups you will make new friends, develop teamwork skills and increase your confidence and motivation. This course will help you settle into college life.

What will I learn

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and confidence. As well as developing your understanding and practical skills, you will have the chance to work towards your personal goals, improve your employability skills and then put those skills into practice.

How will I learn

You will work in small groups and through supported trips you will take part in a range of practical activities, recording your progress along the way. You will get the chance to take part in a range of enterprise activities, enrichment projects and you could take part in a work or vocational placement. We have an independent suite, where you can improve your skills in preparing for adulthood. You can develop your skills in retail, handling money and so much more by working in our very own Thrift Shop!

What's next

You might choose to continue your studies by moving on to the next level or you might choose to progress to a vocational course. Alternatively, you could move on to a supported internship or go into supported employment.
