This qualification is intended for those who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in a workshop, classroom or other training environment rather than assessing competence in a work environment.

Course information
Assessment will be through written assignments and a portfolio of evidence and in addition you will demonstrate your ability within your assessment practice to successfully assess the following methods:
- Observation in a simulated environment
- Questioning
- Skills tests
- Assignments
- Projects
- Case studies
- Recognising prior learning
Candidates successfully completing the qualification can – if professional circumstances permit – progress to achieve the following:
- Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement
- Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance
Candidates must be qualified to minimum Level 3 in the area they are assessing. They must either be a member of an existing accredited assessment team or able to join such a team, be mentored by a qualified assessor and supported and monitored by an internal quality assurance team.
A good level of English is required. (Desirable to be qualified to level 2)
