Course overview
Plumbers install, service and repair water supply, sanitation and heating systems, both domestically and commercially. Our plumbing and heating courses at Stockton Riverside College have been designed to give you the knowledge, skills and behaviours as well as industry work experience needed to become a qualified plumber.
This course offers learning through 50% practical sessions combined with 50% theory sessions. You will learn a wide range of plumbing skills including health and safety, cold water plumbing systems, hot water plumbing systems, central heating systems and above ground drainage. Sessions will be delivered in our plumbing workshop which offers a range of different
environments to develop your plumbing skills.
Course information
On completion of this course you could progress on to one of our plumbing, heating or gas apprenticeships.
Four GCSEs grade 4 including English and maths or a level 1 qualification in a related course.
If you don’t already have an English and maths GCSE grade 9-4, you will continue to work towards this as part of your main program of study*.
This programme of study involves other essential elements such as Maths, English, tutorials, preparation for employment, enrichment and work experience.
