Introduction

This qualification is intended for qualified counsellors who want to develop CBT skills and theory as an integral part of their professional Counselling work. It is designed to enhance the employability of counsellors in organisational settings and as independent practitioners. CBT is one of the NICE recommended psychological therapies and counsellors with CBT skills are often favoured above those without in multidisciplinary psychological therapy teams’ especially the Increasing Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) teams.

What will I learn

This qualification is for candidates who are already qualified and working as Counselling practitioners & who want to develop their skills in CBT as an integral part of their work. Candidates are expected to be working with clients within a professional framework in order to apply their learning to meet the assessment criteria.

How will I learn

Learning will be predominantly online based with a variety of lectures, role play, skills practice, group work and individual study.

BA (Hons) in Therapeutic Counselling.

Please note that 'online Counselling' courses do not count as recognised prior learning. You must be qualified as a counsellor to be able to undertake this course.
