• Learners must be aged 19 years or over and must have both English and maths at grade 4 or above. • Students must have a full level 2 qualification in early years and be employed in an early year setting or be able to attend a work placement for 2 days a week. Introduction

We believe there is nothing more important than taking responsibility for a child’s well- being. Whether working as a teacher, nursery nurse or in the care industry, it is vital you can offer a service that is caring, supportive, fun and stimulating. This course will show you how to develop all of these skills and apply them at work.

What will I learn

You must complete a range of mandatory units which are structured into themes: • Theme 1: Health and Wellbeing • Theme 2: Legislation, Frameworks and Professional Practice • Theme 3: Play, Development and Learning for School Readiness • Theme 4: Professional Development

How will I learn

You will attend a three-hour weekly session and complete two days a week on a relevant placement.

What's next

• Students should be able to gain employment as an Early Years Practitioner in a range of early years settings. • Students may also progress onto the Level 4 Advanced Practitioner qualification.
