It’s not long now before we find out whether Stockton Riverside College’s own dancing duo will make it through to the live shows on Britain’s Got Talent.Performing Arts Musical Theatre students Grace Durkin and Ali Rasul impressed celebrity judges on the TV talent show with their performance at the show’s auditions.
Tonight will see the contest’s audition phase draw to a close before judges, Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden, select the final 40 acts to go through to the live shows.
“It has been such an amazing experience, we have loved it,” said Grace, 17, from Ingleby Barwick.
Ali, 16, from Hartlepool, added: “I think that was the best that we have ever danced. We just wanted to share what we love with a wider audience.”
Performing a contemporary dance to Gravity by Sara Bareilles in their audition aired earlier this month, Simon described them as “amazingly talented” and Alesha said: “Two of the most talented dancers we have seen by a clear mile”.
The pair now hope to secure a place in the Britain’s Got Talent live semi-final shows which start on Monday (29th May, 2017).
If they do, they will need your vote to help get them through to the show’s live final where one winning act will go on to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.
Britain’s Got Talent is on ITV1 at 8pm tonight (Saturday 27th May). The live semi-finals will be aired every day next week.
