The Voice knows that Stockton Riverside College has got talent.

the voiceThe TV talent show paid a visit to the College in their search for future stars.

Holding closed auditions for the 2017 series, some 14 current and past Performing Arts students chose to showcase their vocals.

Now the performers will have to wait and see whether they make it through to the next round of the auditioning process.

“This was a fantastic experience for all of our students that chose to take part,” said Narelle Dalton, Stockton Riverside College’s Higher Education Performing Arts Lecturer.

“It offered the opportunity to prepare and attend a professional audition, giving them a chance to put into practice all of their training in a real life experience.”

What’s more, she said: “The College was recommended to The Voice – a great accolade to the reputation of our students and staff.”

Performing Arts Musical Theatre student Tori McDougall, 16, of Stockton, was among those to take part in the auditions. She said: “I was a bit apprehensive and nervous at first but I thought I would give it a go as it is a bit of fun and great experience.”

Katie Graham, 21, who is originally from Scunthorpe but currently living in Middlesbrough while studying the FdA in Performing Arts at Stockton Riverside College, said: “I took part for the experience, it’s all about showing what you can do. In any audition all you can do is give it your best shot.”
