Tonight (Wed 3rd May, 2017) marks the start of our exciting Final Major Project (FMP) season, where BA Hons Performing Arts students bring their own shows to life.
With everything from musical favourites to variety performances to an open mic night, the FMP season offers students the chance to let their imaginations run free.
Every aspect of each show has been arranged by our students, including casting, production, direction, lights, sound, costume, set, makeup and even marketing and ticket sales.

Eyes Wide Open
Wed 3rd May, 7pm
Emma Dixon
Using a combination of physical theatre and contemporary/lyrical dance this show promises a 90 minute hard hitting realisation of social and relationship issues to inspire and inform. Eyes Wide Open has an age restriction of 14 years as some of the content is not appropriate for children.

STIGMA

Chloe McLean
STIGMA is described as a variety show with a twist. Raising awareness of mental health issues, it platforms the raw truth of mental illness and highlights the misconceptions of society. This show has an age restriction of 18+.

Miscast Musicals

Katie Graham
Promising performances from your favourite musicals as you’ve never heard them before, Miscast Musicals features iconic songs from the musicals but each has been gender swapped to create a unique experience.
Communities Combined
Tues 9th May, 7pm
Tom Wells and James Todd
Offering a chance for community groups to shine on the same stage, Communities Combined is a variety show featuring Teesside performance groups including E3 Theatre, Respect Theatre and the Infant Hercules Choir.

Musical Montage
Wed 10th May, 7pm
Emily Burrell
A fun, bright and energetic show featuring extracts from a range of musical favourites, Musical Montage is made up of an array of stunning performances including group numbers, solos and duets. Evoking a range of emotions it’ll have you both dancing in your seats and reaching for the tissues.

B.F.A.B. Born from a Boombox

Adam Harrison
Fusing hip hop, musical theatre and acting, B.F.A.B. showcases performers from a variety of genres to offer entertainment for all the family. Acts will vary from singing to fire breathing, with music old and new, bringing street performance to the stage.

Rhys Hammond-Booth
A new and innovative take on the classic pub open mic night, this show features new upcoming talent from the Yorkshire area. Plus there will be pie and peas!

The Taboo Tales
Tues 16th May
Lauren McGarvey and Sasha Westfield
Using original material to showcase taboo subjects, Taboo Tales combines different genres of music, dance and drama to raise awareness of common but often unspoken issues. The show promises to educate and help break down barriers on life issues we shouldn’t be afraid to talk about.
Due to the nature of the show it has an age restriction of 18+.

A Celebration Of
Wed 17th May, 7pm
Emma Devlin
Featuring a range of musical numbers from shows including Les Miserables, Miss Saigon Dreamgirls and Memphis, A Celebration Of will take you on a musical journey. Showcasing some of the upcoming young talent of Teesside the performance is made up of a variety of vocal and dance styles.
