Media and Games students have been putting their skills to the test as part of an exciting arts project. The Level 3 learners were tasked with a live brief to create a 3D design of a tiny house, working alongside local artist and founder of The Slow Life project, Rachel Powell.
The project focuses on sustainable housing, healthy living, recycling of waste materials and our accumulation of “stuff” by getting back to basics.
And the Stockton Riverside College students were asked to develop a compact living space that can be used as a creative community mobile hub and living area.
Coming up with a range of 3D concept designs, the students’ work will be used to inspire the ultimate design for a real tiny house which will be created and used by Rachel to travel the social and geographical peripheries of the UK.
Media and Games lecturer, James Bingham, said: “So far we have seen some excellent designs and this is a testament to the skills and creativity of our students.
“Rachel has links with many local digital companies and we are proud to engage with and be part of the project!”
