Students will be putting their creative skills to the test this week as Production Arts (Make-up for Media and Performance) present their final show.

Guests to the exhibition at Stockton Riverside College on Thursday (21st May) are promised some spectacular sights, as the group delivers a live installation that is quite simply out of this world.

Dreams Illusion of Imagination, is the title of the unique spectacle, which will showcase the students’ skills, developed on the course over the last two years.

“The quality of the work is just amazing,” said course leader, Nina Harper. “The students are so good and so dedicated.”

Presenting their work to an audience of friends, family, students and guests, the group will present 11 models in the live showcase of their work.

Keeping tight lipped about the looks we can expect to see on the night, student Kimberley Teasdale said: “I think people will be impressed. We have worked really hard and the show offers the chance to show everything we have done over the last two years.”

On the Level 3 Production Arts (Make-up for Media and Performance) course students develop a wide range of skills and techniques required to work in this exciting industry, from make-up to prosthetics and special effects.

Kimberley, 19, of Middleton St George, who hopes to go on to study at the University of the Arts, London College of Fashion, with dreams of one day doing make-up for the runway, said: “You learn so much, it has helped me to figure out what I want to go on to do.”

Emily Campbell, 18, of Redcar, said it was seeing a previous student’s work that inspired her own decision to study Production Arts.

“It is really creative and something totally different,” she said.

Now hoping to achieve the grades to go on to university, she added: “I want to continue building my skills and then see where university leads.”

Dreams Illusion of Imagination will take place in SRC2 on Thursday from 6pm-8pm.
