The 43-year-old Higher Level Teaching Assistant now hopes to ultimately go on to train to be a teacher.

"I have always enjoyed working in schools, first as a volunteer when the children were little, and then taking a change in career direction and retraining to be a teaching assistant and then a higher level teaching assistant."

She says progressing into teaching now seems the natural next step and securing her GCSE in Biology means she has everything in place to start training.
