Mitchell Mealing is celebrating receiving the results ne needed to get into his first choice University, studying Medicine at Oxford.

Achieving the impressive 2 A*s and 1 A in Biology, Chemistry and Maths means that he is en route to follow his dreams of being a doctor.

Talking of his nerves, he said “I’ve only just started thinking about results this week. It’s been daunting. Opening the envelope is so much more than opening any envelope.”

Mitchell, from Billingham, chose to study A-levels at SRC Bede because when he visited Open Evenings he felt that it was a warm and welcoming place with a nice vibe.

He said “It’s always been a nice place to be and it’s been so great coming to a place every day where you genuinely feel like you belong.”

The 18 year old continued, “I feel like I’ve got where I wanted to because of the staff here.”
