College proved a hair-raising experience for Performing Arts Acting students today.

The guys braved a leg wax in an effort to help raise funds for a group trip to London.

Speaking before the event Sol Taibi said: "We wanted to extend our annual visit to London by an extra day. Our teacher suggested we help cover the cost for everyone by trying to raise the additional money."

Brain storming a host of ideas, the students kick-started their fundraising efforts this week with the boys' leg wax and a supermarket bag pack.

"Some of the lads weren't able to make the bag pack, so this seemed like a good way of doing our bit," said former Haughton Community School student, Sol.

Enlisting the help of Stockton Riverside College's Beauty students, seven of the boys rolled up their trouser legs in an attempt to get the cash rolling in.

Catching up after the event, Sol said: "The only thing I can say about it is that it's bad. Of course it is but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be! The back of the legs hurt way more than the front. But it was totally worth the pain."

Part of the Enterprising Stockton initiative, Stockton Riverside College works hard to encourage a culture of enterprise across the college, bringing a host of enterprise opportunities to students alongside their studies.
