A charity fundraiser promises to be a close shave for Stockton Riverside College student Charlotte Bergman.
The 18-year-old is planning to undergo the ultimate crop in an attempt to get the cash rolling in.

Inspired by her grandfather’s ongoing battle with pancreatic cancer, Charlotte said: “I wanted to do something to raise money for Cancer Research UK and was trying to think of something more dramatic than a bake sale or sitting in a bath of beans.
“I was talking about different ideas with friends when I said, why don’t I just take the plunge and shave my head?”
With friends quick to agree that this was certainly something they would sponsor her for, what started as a throw away comment suddenly seemed like a good idea. Charlotte decided to take the plunge.
Never having had her hair shorter than chin length before, the former Conyers School pupil from Ingleby Barwick said: “I am nervous but it’s only hair and it will grow back.
“I dye my hair a lot, so I thought it would be a nice way to raise some money and when it grows back my hair will be a lot healthier.”
Preparing for the weeks after the chop Charlotte, who studies Performing Arts Acting at Stockton Riverside College, has already bought herself two wigs.
She said: “Since that initial conversation I have given it a lot of thought and it is something that I definitely want to do.”
Hoping that people will get behind her and make a donation Charlotte will be having her head shaved by a Hairdressing student in the college main street tomorrow (Wednesday 8th February, 2017) at 12.30pm.
The charity event also coincides with the Respect Festival, a college-wide initiative which aims to promote equality and diversity within society and bring people together to learn from each other and encourage mutual respect.
